FLORAL TRIBUTES TO DR. YSR, MESSIAH OF POOR

Floral tributes to Dr.YSR, Messiah for poor and a man who won hearts of millions including his bitter critics.

In 1999 I was at remote tribal areas in East Godavari conducting political analysis for my friend who was contesting as BJP candidate from Rajamundry. Tribal could recall Indira Gandhi, NTR . Then CM CBN and Sonia Gandhi were recognised in relation with NTR & IG. Again when I did similar exercise at Nalgonda & Chevella for SJR, our family friend, again the same three names were recalled. This time YSR was far ahead of others in his popularity.

With polavaram and; pulichintala in coastal AP, pothireddypadu, Handri in Royalseema, pranahita, nettempadu etc & Krishna water to Hyderabad, he did justice to all regions of united AP and people remember him for ever.

With arogyasree, fee reimbursement, continuation of social welfare measures introduced by NTR with more vigor made him Messiah of poor.

With completion of Samshabad airport, ORR, extended IT, financial, knowledge based institutions in Hyderabad , most of them introduced by CBN Garu , Dr YSR provided himself that he is above politics when it comes to development.

It's appropriate to remember the great soul on this saddest date.

One thing I like to mention, all the constitutional positions are custodians of public property. Custodianship is totally different and much more responsible than estate. Often our politicians forget the role and convert custodian to estate. Some of them who crossed the line for the welfare of people and to overcome bureaucratic delays proved as great leaders. Though I strongly believe in custodianship, I am confused in passing value judgement.

One who strongly practice custodianship may become mahatma, but may not be very relevant to larger population. That may be the reason why Gandhi jee did not take up the responsibility of governance
