TAMILIANS ONCE AGAIN PROVED THAT THEY ARE DIFFERENT BJP and it’s alliance parties at different times during last one year ( after sudden demise of JJ) created media image of Sasikala and her family as “MANNARGUDI MAFIA” but people of TN with voting in RK Nagar byolls created “MANNARGUDI MANIA”. BJP soon after JJ demise tried to grab power in TN using Sasikala. Once she refused to bend, they moved with OPS. Another shock came to them when OPS failed to garner support from MLAs. Quickly Sasikala going jail and Palanisamy becoming CM happened. DEMOCRACY IS AT DOLDRUMS IN TAMIL NADU BJP with its greed for power in TN, made premature moves of uniting KPS & OPS by grossly underestimating Sashikala. KPS who was sitting comfortably in CM seat and sure of sailing through for next four years with blessings of Sashikala, had fallen into the trap of BJP and now fishing in troubled waters. BJP once again overestimated the strength of OPS and miserably failed in understanding Tamil sentiments and localized politics of this region. With about 30 MLAs in Sashikala camp, openly opposing the merger of OPS & KPS groups and seeking for vote of confidence in assembly, is real test for BJP and unfortunately Governor 's office is dragged into controversy again. IS THE HISTORY GOING TO BE REPEATED IN TAMIL NADU?  To outside world Tamil politics looks more impulsive and sentiment oriented. If one look into it deeply we get  totally different perspective. Tamilians are always looking  towards strong and stable leadership.  TN could see strong Congress  leadership in Rajaji(52-54), Kamaraj Nadar(54-63). Annadurai himself lost election from Kanchipuram in 1962. Once Kamaraj was replaced by Bhaktavatsalam in 1963, the downfall of Congress started in TN and in 1967 elections DMK under Anna established most popular anti Hindi Government in TN.  With demise of Anna in 1969,  M Karunanidhi  was natural choice as successor CM and lead party to victory in 1971 elections.
