Respected Sir,
I was very much impressed by seeing your interview in "EENADU" on 19.10.2015" with the tile "Maa Sayam Nirantharam", and thought that happy days are coming to AP through your honor and skipped all the pages and moved to page 9 to read the full text of the interview.
As a responsible citizen of our nation & AP, I feel it is my responsibility to express the concerns related to your interview given as a message to public of Andhra Pradesh.
While coming to the issue of special status, you did mention that AP will not get it, as it is not fulfilling 3 out of 4 basic requirements. If it is the case, why you did not rise it as an issue in Rajya Sabha, when then Prime Minister Sri. Manmohan Singh gone on record by declaring special status to AP for 5 years. Without questioning then PM on these technical issues and getting them amended , you demanded special status for 10 year and often gone on record by stating that except you no one demanded special status for AP in Parliament. Are you ignorant of these basic issues related to special status? Can people believe that a very senior parliamentarian handling parliamentary affairs portfolio & Ex National President of BJP is ignorant of these?
Even Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi in presence of Sri. Chandrababu Naidu (CBN) & yourself, in election meetings reassured that much more than what was promised in parliament will be delivered to AP once voted to power and you promptly translated and explained in Telugu.
Requesting you to prevail on good offices of PM/GOI and ensure that the promise of special status made in Parliament is fulfilled. Telugus will remember you forever and you will find permanent place in the history of Navya Andhra Pradesh with golden letters.
When the journalist was asking you about special status, you had gone on record by stating GOI is always helping AP and quoted that huge quantity of Red gram was allocated to AP recently. Is the Red Gram allotment was done exclusively to AP or as through routine allotment process to all states? If GOI can allot Red gram to AP through a special process/intervention of your honour (impression gathered from your interview) ,why not special status to AP?
For a question on a reduction of over 20 Lakh acres Agricultural land in AP due to real estate in CRDA , you did mention that due to high yielding verities, the productivity has gone up by 3 to 4 times and it is the solution for growing food needs. However as for the GOI published data, the average food grain yield had gone up from 1546 Kgs/Ha (1993-94) to 2070 Kgs/Ha (2014-15), an increase of 524 Kgs/Ha (25% only) and it is just in line with our population growth. Requesting GOI, through you to scale up Agricultural research at least to reach to some level of your perception.
To a question on the land pooling and noncooperation of villagers in few villages in core capital area, you did mention that CBN was advised by you to declare the lands in the villages not coming forward to be part of land pooling as green belts. There are stipulated norms to declare green belts and I am sure as an Urban Development Minister you are well aware of the rules in vogue.
You did mention that GOI did not give thousands of crores funds to new capital cities Nayya Raipur, Ranchi & Dehradun and only cooperation is extended. All these are caution signals to AP? AP people have lot hopes on GOI & you in particular.
It was mentioned that some elements are advising CBN to withdraw support to GOI and any such moves will be of disadvantage to the state. In fact it is the groups in state BJP, making inconsistent statements and often putting TDP Government into defensive mode. Whereas despite inconsistent approach of GOI on special status, TDP is restraining itself from making any statements, thereby respecting collation dharma.
I request you to take the concerns expressed by a common man like me positively and use your good offices to accord special status to AP & bail out Andhra Pradesh from present financial crisis arise due to state separation.
Thanking You Sir,
With Best Regards.
B Guruva Reddy
