Roles & Responsibilities of citizens - Effectiveness of system

  • We have constitution & its related  bodies and guiding principles to protect the rights of citizens of our country.

  • We have well oiled mechanism of bureaucracy & systems to implement the programs within the framework of constitution.

  • We have world's largest democracy - People's elected representatives having presence from Nation to Village Panchayat level. These are the watchdogs on bureaucracy & systems to ensure people's interests are protected and function within the constitutional framework.

Why things are not moving in right direction? There is very thin line between policy & implementation, but it's very important line.

If policy makers get into execution, obviously the vested interests will prevail. It is the reason for present situation of rampant corruption etc.

Public has to wake up & keep questioning the system & try bringing in accountability.
