AP STATE SEPARATION - COMMON MAN'S PERSPECTIVE
AP STATE
SEPARATION - COMMON MAN'S PERSPECTIVE
1. It's very unfortunate that the state is divided into two, against the
wishes of the majority of the people living in combined state.
2. As all of us are aware that both national parties leading NDA &
UPA were interested in the separation
for their own reasons.
3. Though there were states bifurcations earlier, the AP division was
unique in the sense it was not approved in state assembly and there was no
serious debate in parliament and the whole process was completed in hurry for
the reasons better known to both national parties.
4. For this we have to blame our own MPs representing the state in both
houses of parliament, the weak leadership prevailed at state level and double
standard opposition parties. In nutshell the entire political system failure
resulted state separation.
5. Whether we like it or not, we have to live with the fact and adjust
with reality.
6. AP division is a very peculiar case, where the newly formed state
walked away with the capital city. In case of MP, UP, Bihar the capital cities
remain with the old states.
7. AP being a state established with a part separated from Madras state
and another part from Nizam state, the situation was unique with mulki rules,
Gentlemen agreement etc.
8. Like a family separation, two brothers separated under the
statesmanship of GOI. GOI decided that the old house remain with younger
brother and asked the older one to built a new house.
9. Hyderabad being a national
city, many people from coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema & Telangana districts
other than many from all our India settled here and made it as true
cosmopolitan city.
10. How can you name CA & RS people in Hyderabad as settlers and
people from Telangana as locals. When all of them settled here from combined
states, why the differentiation? Like CA & RS people have
business/employment in Hyderabad & Agriculture activities in their
respective villages, Telangana also have similar profile. Don't you think the
new state should treat all of them equally. Moreover Telangana is treating non
Telugu settlers with great respect and honor, why hostility towards its own
people?
11. Is it not the responsibility of GOI, to get into history of the
state, have thorough understanding of the micro issue and ensure equal justice
is done.
12. One year completed after separation, still all India services
allocation is not completed fully, staff allocation in many departments is
pending & lot of issues to resolve, administration is not effective due to
above facts.
13. Both Governments are busy with announcing lot of programmes and
making tall claims. Unless until the micro level situation is not congenial how
the set goals will be accomplished?
14. Both Governments put the image of Telugu's both at national & international level to stake
by Note for vote & phone tapping etc and scooping down to the level of
street fighters. There is need for both Governments to restrain from doing so , kept aside the
egos and work in the interest of people.
15. Coming to the issue of common capital for 10 years, GOI shall ensure
that AP Government, its employees are treated with dignity and respect till
they move to their new capital. Regarding people living in Hyderabad through
settling down, all has to be treated equally in all walks of life.
16. There are reports in papers stating that there are no incidents of
attacks on settlers in last one year and why the implementation of section 8 is
being insisted? You mean to say that relevance of section 8 comes only when some
physical attack is there? Is it not
thought about as preventive strategy?
17. Why are we looking at only physical attacks alone, what about
discrimination shown in other forms? Is CA & RS settlers in Hyderabad given
equal opportunities in Hyderabad & given opportunities to serve Telangana
state, vice versa AP state also have to give opportunities to people of
Telangana districts settled in New AP.
18. GOI shall intervene and ensure that the loose ends in the state
separation are identified and ensure that fair and equal justice is done in
mutual interest of both states and common public like me are requesting
political parties in both states with folded hands to restrain from playing
with emotions of people. We want to live as own brothers and sisters with lot
of love and affection.
