chain management of fruits

India being a

if we plan properly we can avoid frozen and storage fruits completely. As the seasonal fruits are fresh and grown as

Supply chain concept:
- The idea is to identify IT/Service sector/financial services employment zones with higher concentration of employees and go for enrolment.
- Weekly supply of two fruits – pack size ½ kg, 1 kg & multiples of 1 kg
- Neat & conventional packing & door delivery. Round the year weekly supply of fruits- Banana, papaya will be in frequent intervals & others purely seasonal.
- Supplies in semi ripe condition.
Market concept:
- Proper software for end to end solutions shall be in place
- Focused marketing & enrolment through targeted reach in companies directly.
- Focus on organic marketing
- Concentrated markets are important; deliveries with name sticker at their employer place will reduce delivery cost considerably. Delivery costs shall be reduced by targeting supplies at work places (ex : campuses of Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft etc)
- Standardized packing.
- Promotion of cross country Indian fruits. For example supply of UP mangoes like Dusseri , Langra, Chusa, Litchi of Bihar in other cities and vice versa.
Procurement strategy:
- Identification of clusters & engaging with local farmer groups
- Identification of enterprising farmers & entering into yearly contracts with fixed rates and specifications
- Centralised packing materials & ripening systems etc sourcing & supply to maintain uniformity.
- Viable scale of operations to optimise on handling & deliveries.
