BGR - SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN DURING KARNATAKA
ELECTIONS, 2018
MODI MASALA - KARNATAKA ELECTIONS
Modi
took aggressive stand in Karnataka elections and going all out to play front
foot, like he did in UP elections- Arnab Goswami
Yes,
Modi played with front foot attack and scored double century in UP where the
bowler is talented but inexperienced medium pacer - Akhilesh, backstabbed by
his captain Mulayam Singh Yadav. In Karnataka the story will be different as he
has to play most experienced and outstanding leg spinner - Siddaramaiah, who
has solid backing of his captain Rahul Gandhi.
WITH KARNATAKA IT WILL BE END OF CONGRESS MUKTH BHARATH & BEGINNING OF MODI MUKTH INDIA
Beware
of BJP. AP was promised golden platter and now reluctant to offer even earthen
platter. Most of the commitments in reorganization bill like spl status,
capital city, railway zone, steel plant, port, education institutions, Polavaram
are not honored with time frames and commitments, forget about gems and
diamonds.
Before
elections they say namma bengaluru, namma Deve Gowda, namma
nijalingappa, namma raita etc and after elections they may say avara bangaluru,
avara Gowda, avara nijalingappa, avara raita. Vote for party and leader who understand
Karnataka better and fulfill the aspirations of people rather than someone who
make hollow promises and disappear.
PREFER SUITABLE WALA (MANNINA MAGA) TO SUIT
WALA.
BJP
is desperate to make Jinnah photo in Aligarh Muslim University, which is there
from pre-independence period and Pakistan praising Tippu Sultan etc as communal
issues and use it to its advantage through Hindu vote polarization. It’s not real love for Hindus; it is
artificial love to win Karnataka elections.
See the other side of mirror in Kashmir. BJP Dy CM Kavinder Gupta stirred a
controversy by stating Kathua rape incident as “Rasana is a chotti si baat “and
we should not give Rasana so much bhaav (importance). He landed in another
controversy by exhibiting soft corner on stone pelters who killed 22-year-old youth
Tirumani a tourist from TN. Again, it’s not the love for Muslim youth of
Kashmir. It is to safeguard their positions and to safe guards their lives and
properties at the cost of innocent public.
WHY ARE WE FIGHTING FOR THESE CHAMELEONS?
Modi Ji promises not delivered to farmers:
Please do not fall fray for Modi Ji impressive political
speeches. It is a game plan to seek your votes and later forget about the
promises, as he did in case of AP. Farmers are the worst sufferers in last four
years and even their suicides did not melt the stone cladded hearts of Delhi-Nawabs.
The indiscriminate import of wheat, maize, pulses, sugar, edible oils etc under the influence of big business houses, food industry giants had severe negative impact on agricultural trade, resulting in huge fall in agricultural commodity prices. Agriculture being the state subject, BJP will pass the blame on respective states. Do not believe them. The Agri imports, Policies, MSP procurement through NAFED are in the hands of centre and states can do very little against the wishes of union Government. The MSP procurement allocation through NAFED is more on political lines rather than on rationale. For example, during Gujarat election time nearly 30% of groundnut production in Gujarat was procured at minimum support prices as against just 7% from AP.

Siddaramaiah took up Redgram procurement by giving Rs.500/Qtl
in addition to MSP and gave critical support to farmers of Karnataka. He was
smart enough to understand the defects in much talked and less delivered e NAM
and decided to go with their own platform ReM (Rastriya e Markets) and very efficiently able
to connect all mandis in Karnataka and farmers could realize better prices. I
was told present Karnataka Government is farmer friendly and helping them. Farmer friends decide and cast your valuable
vote to party which is thinking about your welfare.
NAMMA VYAKTI – NAMMA MATA – NAMMA BHAVISYA
BGR as Farmer:
We sold Bananas @Rs10Kg, Tomatoes @ Rs.4/kg, Papaya @ Rs 10/kg, Brinjal
@ Rs 6/kg, Onion @ 4/Kg, Ginger @ Rs. 30/Kg at our farm and nearby markets. The
harvesting, transport, commission costs are huge and finally its big loss to
farmer. More than the loss, the pain farmer goes through in marketing, leaves
very unpleasant and bitter memories.
BGR as Customer:
After a week we bought Bananas @Rs 40Kg, Tomatoes @ Rs.15/kg, Papaya @
Rs 35/kg, Brinjal @ Rs 23/kg, Onion @ 15/Kg, Ginger @ Rs. 150/Kg in a market at
Hyderabad, 250 Kms away from our village. I was told, even in Vijayawada which
is just 25 Km from our farm, the consumer prices are almost same. What we sold
is fresh and what we bought is stale produce.
THIS MAY BE THE CASE WITH PAN
INDIA AND IN EVEN IN KARNATAKA.
Supply Chain is hijacked:
The vegetable street vendors business had come down with presence of
Reliance retail, D Mart, Q Mart, S Mart etc and for survival they are
increasing retail prices and make good for reduction in volumes, hence the
consumer is at loss.
The supply chain is conveniently managed by these big players. The
middlemen, commission agent system is being encouraged by these big players and
farmer is continued to be exploited. Even the small vendors are the worst
sufferers due to big player- commission agent nexus and their control over
complete supply chain.
The much-talked farmer producer companies; contract farming etc mostly
remained on paper and being implemented in few cases, just to give publicity to
Government. Few big industrial groups like Jain irrigation corner most of the
subsidies meant for FPOs (in fact the budgets are managed by them), established
huge mango pulp food parks with buy back arrangement from Pepsi etc, but the
farmer is still the sufferer at the cost of Jain or Pepsi, by virtue of
monopoly situation.
KARNATAKA MATADARA - ADU IGA
NIMMA SARADI (Karnataka voters, it’s your turn now)
- Do you want to vote for a party who promised
better realizations to farmers through FPOs and delivered big zero in last
four years?
- Do you want to vote for Government which is hand
in glove with multinationals and big industrial houses and benefiting
them at the cost of farmers, small vendors and consumers?
- Do you want to vote for leader who talks in air
& live in air or for a leader who is grounded and respond to our needs
at appropriate time?
Vote for a leader, who is with us in difficult situations and addressing
our problems
NAMMA PRAJA- NAMMA RAITA- NAMMA
SARKARA (our people, our farmers, our Government)
Not to for a leader, who comes as guest, create aspirations, disappoint
& disappear
AVARA PRAJA-AVARA RAITA-AVARA
SARKARA (Whose people, whose farmers, whose Government)
Severe negative impact of Agri
produce during present NDA Government:
India food imports had gone up by 42 % in four years, Rs.1, 14,000
Crores in 2014-15 to Rs. 1, 62,000 Crores (estimated figures) in 2017-18. Is it
because of our inability to produce? Big No, it’s either due to lack of
coordination between food, agriculture and commerce ministries or strong nexus
between Government and trade bodies, to make fortunes, both in imports and
exports.
Sugar:
During 017-18, Indian sugar production is estimated as 31 million MT as
against 24 MMT consumption, hence there is estimated surplus of 7 MMT. If we
consider opening stock of 4 MMT, next sugar year will open with 11 MMT and
based on plantation figures next year production will be 33 MMT. This situation
brought down the sugar prices to lowest of Rs.2450/Qtl and cane dues mounted to
alarming levels.
If GOI has vision for cane industry, they must liquidate stocks by
exporting sugar immediately by compensating industry with differential price
support, increase ethanol blending from present 5 % to 15% and encourage sugar
industry from converting part cane directly into ethanol like it is being done
in Brazil.
Looking at our domestic supply and demand critically, India does not
need sugar imports at all. Still we imported 1.54 MMT in 14-15, 1.94 MMT in 15-16,
2.15 MMT in 16-17 & 2.40 MMT in 17-18 (provisional) and put a nail on
Indian cane growers’ heads. If WTO is the constraint, still it can be handled
with unattractive import duties, provided the intentions are good.
UP, Maharashtra and Karnataka farmers are the worst sufferers in sugar
sector, due to these inconsistent policies of present Government.
Wheat:
Despite good
production years, still wheat imports were 5.75 MMT in 16-17 and 2.07 MMT in
17-18 (provisional) as against nil imports in 14-15 & 0.51 MMT in 15-16. This
unnecessary import lead to a situation of steep fall in wheat prices and the
impact is still being continued. This sentiment extended to other cereal crops
including paddy.
Pluses:
During 15-16,
the pulses rates shot up in India and farmers made some cash surplus, but it is
short lived. The vested interest groups came into picture immediately and
imports increased by 50 %. Expecting better returns, farmers increased acreage
under pulses production. With excessive imports and increased domestic
production the rates of black gram, red gram, green gram, Bengal gram crashed
by 70-80% and they touched rock bottom in their pricing history. The impact is
so severe, even after two years it’s continuing.
PM made this
pulses upsurge as a big political propaganda, went to Africa, Burma, Canada,
signed long term pulses import agreements with those centuries and broke the
back of our own bread growers – FARMERS.
Karnataka
farmers are again the worst sufferers, other than AP, Telangana, MP, Rajasthan,
Maharashtra due to this trade-politics nexus created situation.
Other Crops:
Similar games
are played in import of other crops particularly in Maize, fresh fruits and our
farmers interests are being buried permanently.
IT IS CLEAR TRADE OFF OF OUR
FARMERS INTERESTS TO HELP SELECTIVE FEW TRADE HOUSES AND INDUSTRY.
(Now You know who is anti farmers. Think, decide and vote)
TDP, the pre poll alliance
partner and partner in Government ill-treated:
TDP Government in residual Andhra Pradesh was NDA partner and waited
with patience with lot of hopes on BJP about fulfilling the commitments made in
parliament on special status and assurances given in state reorganization bill.
After the last budget, TDP understood the hidden agenda of BJP and disassociated
completely from BJP and came out of NDA. Both TDP, YSRCP decided to expose
failures of BJP related to AP in parliament and moved ahead by moving the no
confidence motion against the Government.
The minimum required MPs support for motion came through unconditional
support from Congress and host of other non-NDA partners.
BJP decided to follow most undemocratic practice of not allowing the
motion to see day light in the house. They went to the extent of using AIADMK,
most vulnerable party after demise of Purachi Talaivi Jailalitha as a shield
and avoided no confidence motion by not allowed for 23 days and sessions ended
without conducting any business.
By convincing AIADMK with assurance of debate on Kaveri water issue, NDA
could have easily allowed the motion for discussion, clear the doubts of AP on
reorganization bill and happily conducted the business. Despite having
comfortable majority BJP feared to face no confidence motion, as they are on
wrong side when it comes to AP issues.
Even the senior MPs from BJP could not prevail and in the history of
parliamentary democracy the March, 2018 sessions remain as black spot. Ignoring
the party seniors, no care attitude for opposition, no respect for cooperative
federalism, exploiting vulnerable parties is the fabric of present NDA. It
clearly exhibits their arrogance particularly after winning election after
election, the kick has gone into their heads and forgetting the ground
realities of this nation.
Now the mission is to weaken the states particularly the opposition
ruled ones, exploit regional parties by creating fears using the system and then
make the states vulnerable and make them to dance to the tunes of centre. This
is very dangerous situation and states should resist and ensure that friendly,
spirited centre-state relations shall prevail with true spirit of democratic
federalism.
Farmers’ issues to functioning of Parliament – This Government failed in
all fronts. Today the issue is with AP, tomorrow it can be Karnataka or any
other state. If we do not resist and show them the place, this arrogance will
grow leafs and bounds, may reach dangerous levels.
The bi election results in UP, MP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West
Bengal, TN are indications that our voters are very smart and they know how to ground
the flying governments.
THESE KARNATAKA ELECTIONS ARE
LIKE QUARTER FINALS, FOLLOWED BY SEMIFINALS IN DECEMBER AND GRAND FINALS IN
